EL AL to step up efforts to bring customers home from the Far East next week

Following the Minister of Transport's announcement to expand national efforts to repatriate Israelis from the Far East, EL AL announced that it is stepping up its repatriation operations in the region and will operate repatriation flights from three key hubs: Bangkok, Phuket, and Tokyo.

As part of these efforts, the airline is expected to double the number of weekly flights from these airports. In the coming week, approximately 20 flights will be operated from the Far East, mainly from Bangkok, to bring more than 6,000 passengers back to Israel. Priority will be given to EL AL customers whose flights have been cancelled.

At the same time, the company is working to rebook all its customers in the Far East on repatriation flights. Once this process is complete, the remaining seats will be released for booking by additional passengers, including customers of foreign airlines whose flights have been cancelled. Sales will begin on the EL AL website and through travel agencies at a limited repatriation price of USD 599 for a one-way flight to Israel.

This expansion was made possible thanks to close cooperation with the Ministry of Transport, the Israel Airports Authority, and the Civil Aviation Authority. Together, they adjusted the operational framework to eliminate the bottleneck at the Far East gateways and accelerate the return of Israelis home.

EL AL continues to work around the clock to bring its customers back to Israel and will provide further information as developments unfold and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
