Hilton Opens its First Onsen Resort in Southeast Asia with Hilton Quang Hanh Onsen Resort in Northern Vietnam
Frankfurt am Main, February 25, 2026 | Hilton (NYSE: HLT) today announced the opening of Hilton Quang Hanh Onsen Resort in Quang Hanh Valley, Cam Pha, Quang Ninh Province. Based on the destination's natural hot mineral springs, the resort invites guests to enjoy its onsen-inspired experiences – coupled with the warm, exceptional hospitality for which Hilton is known. The opening marks the third Hilton Hotels & Resorts property in Vietnam, strengthening the flagship brand's growing presence in the country.
"Hilton Quang Hanh Onsen Resort is an exciting step for our growth in Vietnam and across Southeast Asia," said Alexandra Murray, Area Vice President & Regional Head South East Asia, Hilton. "Vietnam's tourism landscape is evolving rapidly, and we are seeing more guests extending their travels beyond major hubs to seek destinations that offer a different pace and a more relaxing stay. With Quang Hanh's natural hot mineral springs at the heart of the experience, the resort offers travelers a new way to rejuvenate in northern Vietnam."
The resort is located in the Quang Hanh region, known for its rare natural hot mineral springs and mountainous landscapes. It is a 30-minute drive from Ha Long and two and a half hours from Hanoi. Nearby are also well-known attractions such as Long Tien Pagoda, Bao Hai Linh Thong Pagoda – one of the largest pagodas in Ha Long City – and Sung Sot Cave.
Hilton Quang Hanh Onsen Resort features 178 villas and 38 rooms. All accommodations offer a private onsen as well as access to hot and cold saunas. Choices include rooms and suites for couples and families, as well as two- to four-bedroom villas ranging from 110 to 550 square meters, featuring spacious living and dining areas. The resort's premium offerings include two 1,250-square-meter, five-bedroom Presidential Villas with a karaoke room, private teppanyaki facilities, and a wine cellar. Currently, 50 villas and all rooms are available for booking, with the remaining villas expected to open towards the end of the year.
"From intimate private celebrations to grand festivities, Hilton Hotels & Resorts creates meaningful human connections, with our teams proudly acting as ambassadors. Hilton Quang Hanh Onsen Resort is a new discovery for many travelers and will help introduce Quang Hanh to the world, offering guests unforgettable experiences," said Vincent Ong, Vice President, Full Service Brands, Asia Pacific, Hilton. "Beyond Hilton's renowned hospitality and refined art of hosting, guests at this resort will enjoy unique, private onsens in every room, as well as access to mineral-rich baths."
The resort's wellness offerings include seamless access to Yoko Onsen Quang Hanh. There, guests can enjoy a public onsen with 27 baths, as well as 18 separate baths for men and women or mixed baths. Sauna and spa facilities are also available. In addition to the onsen facilities, guests can relax at the resort's Eforea Spa, swim in the indoor pool overlooking lush mountains and green landscapes, or use the 24-hour fitness center and Kids' Club.
For events, the resort offers flexible communal and meeting spaces, including six private dining rooms and two meeting rooms ranging from 27 to 81 square meters. These are suitable for invigorating corporate events and memorable celebrations.
The resort's cuisine is a vibrant celebration of global and local flavors, offering guests an elevated culinary journey through three carefully curated experiences. The resort's modern Japanese restaurant, Genji, features a sushi and teppanyaki counter, as well as a meticulously crafted Kaiseki menu, offering a total of 210 seats. The Genji Bar offers panoramic views and serves afternoon tea, freshly prepared cocktails, and light snacks. The Kitchen Craft restaurant, which offers Western and Asian cuisine as well as dessert specialties and is currently undergoing renovation, is scheduled to reopen at the end of the year.
With 21 hotels, Vietnam currently has the third-largest Hilton portfolio in Southeast Asia. The hotel company plans to double this portfolio, thereby strengthening Vietnam as a key market for its growth. With the opening of the resort, Hilton also expands its presence in northern Vietnam, complementing the recently opened Tru by Hilton Ha Long Hon Gai Centre in Quang Ninh Province.
"With the shared vision of Sun Group and Hilton to develop sustainable destinations where international standards go hand in hand with local values, we are confident that Hilton Quang Hanh Onsen Resort will become a globally recognized onsen retreat that every traveler exploring Vietnam's historic region will want to experience," said Nguyen Vu Quynh Anh, Deputy CEO, Sun Group & CEO, Sun Group Entertainment & Hospitality Division.
Guests of the hotel will enjoy the benefits of Hilton Honors, Hilton's award-winning loyalty program. Members who book directly through preferred Hilton channels can earn points and enjoy instant benefits, including flexible payment options with points and money, exclusive member discounts, and free standard Wi-Fi.
