Cologne/Frankfurt, February 4, 2026 – For Family Reisen, the specialist for long-haul travel with children, is kicking off the new travel year 2026 with four new destinations and over 120 guaranteed group tour dates during the summer holidays. Among the new destinations is Panama for the first time – an exciting destination for adventurous families. 

After family trips to Sri Lanka, Costa Rica, Oman, South Africa, and Namibia were particularly popular in 2025, the Galapagos Islands, Canada, Peru, and China are also in high demand with tour operator For Family Reisen in 2026, alongside the aforementioned bestseller destinations. The high demand for family trips in Asia and Southern Africa will be met with almost 30 additional planned dates. During the summer holidays, over 120 group tour dates are guaranteed to take place, offering families a particularly high level of planning security. 

To enable travel-loving families to discover even more of the world, For Family Reisen has also launched group tours to South Korea, Dubai, and the Azores for the first time this year. In addition, the specialist is now offering a new 14-day group tour to Panama, which takes adventurous families with teenagers and children aged ten and above to the fascinating country between Costa Rica and Colombia. 

"Even though many people first think of Costa Rica when planning a Central America trip with children, Panama is an incredibly great destination for families," reports Managing Director Nadja Albrecht. "It is one of the most biodiverse countries in the world, yet it is still relatively undiscovered, which makes it an exciting destination for outdoor enthusiasts off the beaten tourist paths."  

The varied mix of nature and wildlife, sea and beach, as well as colonial and indigenous culture makes the trip a true adventure. The chances of exciting wildlife observations with sloths, monkeys, exotic birds, as well as dolphins and whales are very high. Families will experience, among other things, the Caribbean archipelago of Bocas del Toro and the Pacific coast near Santa Catalina, take snorkeling trips to the uninhabited dream islands of Coiba Island and Cayo Zapatillas, explore the Gamboa Rainforest Reserve, hike in the mountain village of Boquete, and visit the famous Panama Canal.  

The two-week Panama family trip is offered on two dates in July and August 2026 at an attractive starting price: €2,119 per adult, €1,699 per teenager (12-17 years), and €999 per child (10-11 years), each in a double room with an extra bed. 

Optimized Itineraries 

In addition to expanding with new destinations, the organizer for sustainable adventure travel with children places particular emphasis on the continuous optimization of existing trips. The quality of the planned travel program and the routing of family trips are constantly reviewed for topicality and child-friendliness. For 2026, For Family Reisen has once again improved several family trips to further increase guest satisfaction. 

This year, families particularly benefit from the revised Orient trips "Morocco for family" and "Egypt for family". For the Morocco adventure trip with children, the itinerary from Marrakech to the desert has been revised to significantly reduce long travel times. In Egypt, the family trip from the pyramids in Cairo now leads directly to Luxor to the Valley of the Kings and then to a beach holiday in a high-quality 5-star aquapark resort in Hurghada. This shortens transfer times, reduces accommodation changes, and aligns the program even more strongly with the needs of children.  

Program changes also await families on the popular long-haul Asia trips to Malaysia & Borneo and Japan. In Kyoto, families now have the optional opportunity to visit the Iwatayama Monkey Park in Arashiyama – known for its impressive bamboo forest – to observe wild Japanese macaques. In Malaysia, the adventure factor of the trip has been increased for participating teens: a rafting tour on the way to the Cameron Highlands, a hike through the mossy jungle in Coral Hill, and a kayak tour on Gaya Island provide more action and adventure.  

In Africa, the individual trip "Tanzania for family individually" with a private driver-guide has been improved and now combines relaxed beach days on Zanzibar with exciting safari experiences in the Serengeti. In addition, the family trip to Madagascar during the summer holidays has been adjusted: new additions include a cooking class and an overnight stay in beach bungalows in Ifaty, where families can go whale watching in July and August when humpback whales raise their young in the warm waters.
