EL AL Israel Airlines Announces Nine New Global Destinations
Frankfurt/Main, February 9, 2026. EL AL today unveiled its most extensive route network to date, set to expand with nine new destinations in the coming year. After almost three years focused on expanding its flight schedule – with an emphasis on core destinations in the East, North America, and Europe – to serve as an air bridge between Israel and the world, EL AL is now moving into the next phase of its growth and expansion.
EL AL will offer direct flights to new long-haul destinations. Hanoi (Vietnam), Seoul (South Korea), and Manila (Philippines) will each be served three times a week. These new routes not only cater to tourism demand but also provide an optimal solution for business travelers and strengthen economic ties between Israel and Asia. In addition to direct flights, EL AL will offer connecting flights to a variety of other destinations across the continent through partnerships with several airlines. Flights to Vietnam, Seoul, and Manila will be operated with the company's modern Boeing 787 aircraft. These feature three service classes – Economy, Premium Economy, and Business – offering an outstanding and pleasant flight experience.
The new destinations significantly complement EL AL's existing route network. EL AL is expected to serve approximately 60 destinations with direct flights to and from Israel – an unprecedented number for the company. Along with the introduction of new routes, EL AL is expanding its operations to core destinations and increasing frequencies on routes with the highest demand. In North America, EL AL will offer up to 55 flights per week, the largest number of flights in its history. Due to enormous public demand, there will also be an expansion of routes to the Far East, including Japan with up to five flights per week and Thailand with 16 flights per week, as well as an expansion of important core destinations in Europe. In total, EL AL is expected to operate approximately 900 flights per week to destinations worldwide. As part of the route network expansion and consistent focus on its growth strategy, the company is expected to announce further partnerships with leading global airlines. These partnerships will enable convenient and flexible connections, expand the number of connecting destinations, and strengthen EL AL's global presence.
Ticket sales for Hanoi begin immediately on the EL AL website and through travel agencies. For flights starting October 2026, an attractive introductory price of 899 US dollars for a round-trip ticket will be offered. Sales for Seoul are expected to begin in May for flights starting March 2027. Details on sales for Manila will be announced at a later date.
Parallel to the expansion into Asia, Sundor, part of the EL AL Group, which has continuously innovated and opened up new short-haul destinations in recent years, is now announcing six new destinations. These are in addition to the recently announced destinations of Salzburg, Naples, and Varna. Italy will continue to be served with flights to Catania in Sicily and Cagliari in Sardinia. New additions to the program include Basel in Switzerland, Zagreb and Dubrovnik in Croatia. Furthermore, EL AL returns to Copenhagen with Sundor after 17 years. This expansion is possible thanks to the strengthening of the group's aircraft fleet, including the acquisition of two additional 737 aircraft and an increase in the leased fleet.
The destinations will be offered at attractive prices for round-trip tickets: Sardinia and Croatia from 339 US dollars, Sicily from 389 US dollars, Basel from 439 US dollars, and Copenhagen from 529 US dollars. Sales for Sundor destinations also begin today on the EL AL website and through travel agencies.
Kenny Rozenberg, majority shareholder of EL AL, said: “The decision to expand EL AL's operations at this time is a concrete expression of our unwavering confidence in the resilience of the State of Israel and the Israeli economy. We are proud to continue expanding our aviation infrastructure so that the Israeli flag continues to fly on the tailfins of our aircraft at major airports worldwide. For us, EL AL is much more than just an airline. It is Israel's vital connection to the world, and we are determined to continue leading it to growth and new strategic successes.”
