Korean Air Unveils New Flagship Lounge at Los Angeles Airport

Seoul, March 2, 2026. Korean Air will open its newly renovated next-generation flagship lounge at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on March 6, 2026. This marks a significant milestone for the airline, which continuously invests in a premium customer experience and the global transformation of its brand.

Ahead of the official opening, Korean Air hosted a two-day unveiling ceremony at the new facility in the Tom Bradley International Terminal from February 26-27. Approximately 200 invited guests, industry partners, and stakeholders attended the event to tour the premises and experience the modernized facilities.

Designed by Singapore-based LTW Designworks, the lounge cost KRW 65 billion and was completed in 22 months. As Korean Air's first lounge to be renovated prior to its merger with Asiana Airlines, the facility reflects the company's evolving brand philosophy while integrating elements of its rich heritage.

A Premium Space Reflecting Modern Korean Luxury
The renovated lounge spans two floors: the First Class Lounge on the 6th floor and the Miler Club & Prestige Class Lounge on the 5th floor. With a total area of 1,675 square meters, it is 1.27 times larger than the previous facility and is now Korean Air's largest directly operated lounge abroad.

Located on the upper floors of the terminal, the lounge features floor-to-ceiling windows and a balcony terrace with panoramic views of the airport grounds, creating an open and comfortable environment for passengers.

The interior design makes optimal use of natural light to reflect the vibrant energy of Los Angeles. Warm wood textures and high-quality stone materials embody a sophisticated interpretation of “modern Korean luxury”. Selected Korean artworks, including Buncheong ceramics, brushstroke ink paintings, and traditional moon jars (Dalhangari), further enrich the space, blending Eastern heritage with contemporary, global aesthetics.

The First Class Lounge was designed to offer a highly personalized and elevated experience that goes beyond the traditional concept of an airport lounge. It features two private suites for ultimate relaxation, à la carte gourmet service where dishes are prepared to order, and a full-service bar where professional bartenders craft handmade cocktails and premium beverages.

The Miler Club and Prestige Class Lounges also offer an open kitchen concept where chefs prepare fresh dishes on-site. Guests can also enjoy locally inspired offerings such as Southern California craft beers and a signature Los Angeles coffee blend. Miler Club passengers can order special menu items directly from their seats via a convenient QR code digital ordering system.

Beyond the dining options, the lounge is divided into various zones to meet the diverse needs of passengers: there are dedicated business areas, family seating areas, and premium showers for pre-flight refreshment.

Strengthening Global Lounge Infrastructure
With the transformation of the lounge at LAX, Korean Air aims to further solidify its position as a leading global airline. LAX is Korean Air's most important hub in North America, forming a vital link between Asia, the United States, and Latin America.

The lounge is available to eligible Korean Air passengers as well as premium customers of SkyTeam partner airlines. It offers international travelers the opportunity to experience Korean Air's signature hospitality.
Following the opening at LAX, Korean Air plans to expand and modernize its lounge infrastructure at other key global hubs. The airline's newly renovated lounge at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York will open later this year.

“With the opening of this flagship lounge, Korean Air will further expand its presence at LAX while providing an even more refined and differentiated premium travel experience,” said David Pacey, Executive Vice President and Chief of In-Flight Service and Lounges at Korean Air. “We will continue to invest in our services and infrastructure to exceed the expectations of our global customers.”
