Korean Air’s Preliminary Financial Results for Q4 2025 (Non-Consolidated)
Seoul, January 16, 2026.
- In the fourth quarter of 2025, Korean Air recorded revenue of KRW 4.5516 trillion (USD 3.1721 billion), an increase of KRW 522 billion year-on-year. However, operating profit decreased year-on-year to KRW 413.1 billion (USD 287.9 million) due to increased operating costs.
- Passenger business revenue totaled KRW 2.5917 trillion, an increase of KRW 217.1 billion year-on-year. While demand on North American routes remained flat due to stricter entry regulations and intensified competition on West Coast routes, the overall network saw an increase in revenue and profitability. This growth was driven by an increase in demand on short-haul routes, particularly to Japan and China, during the Chuseok holidays in October.
- Cargo business revenue increased by KRW 35.1 billion year-on-year to KRW 1.2331 trillion. Earnings remained stable, supported by steady e-commerce inflows, year-end seasonal volume, and reduced market volatility following US-China tariff negotiations.
- For the first quarter of 2026, Korean Air plans to maximize passenger revenue by boosting sales in overseas markets to offset the weak Korean Won and declining outbound demand from Korea. The airline will also flexibly expand its capacity to capitalize on peak seasons such as the Lunar New Year holidays in February. In the cargo business, in light of uncertainties such as the slowdown in global economic growth, the airline plans to maximize its profitability through portfolio diversification and flexible deployment of its cargo capacity according to market conditions.
- For 2026, Korean Air anticipates intensified competition due to the recovery of global passenger capacity, as well as increased volatility in global politics. The airline is committed to responding agilely to these external variables while ensuring the highest level of service as it prepares for the introduction of the integrated airline.
