Vietnam Airlines Changes Terminals at Three International Airports
Frankfurt am Main, March 17, 2026. This spring, Vietnam Airlines will relocate its flight operations at three different airports. This includes Frankfurt, where the airline will move into the new Terminal 3. These measures aim to modernize the travel experience for passengers, utilize the latest airport technologies, and enable more seamless connections within the SkyTeam alliance.
Vietnam Airlines to Operate from Terminal 3 in Frankfurt
On May 19, 2026, the airline will move its entire operations from Terminal 2 of Frankfurt Airport to the brand-new Terminal 3. The state-of-the-art facility is scheduled to open in April 2026, while Terminal 2 undergoes renovation.
The new terminal is equipped with modern self-service kiosks and automated baggage drop-off systems to standardize ground handling and reduce processing times. Passengers can conveniently transfer between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 in approximately five minutes using the Skyline train or the airport's shuttle buses.
Further Changes in Paris and Manila
At Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila, Philippines, operations will be relocated from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3 starting March 29, 2026. This measure will address capacity bottlenecks in the previous terminal and significantly enhance the travel experience through improved connectivity. By consolidating SkyTeam alliance members in Terminal 3, check-in procedures will be smoother and flight connections more convenient for all international travelers.
From March 31, 2026, Vietnam Airlines will move its passenger check-in from Terminal 2E to Terminal 2C at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. The recently renovated facility is located approximately 200 meters from the previous location and offers modernized infrastructure and optimized operational design for international airlines. Terminal 2C is currently used by several major international airlines, including Emirates, Air Canada, and Xiamen Airlines.
More Efficient Travel Experience
To ensure a smooth process, Vietnam Airlines recommends all passengers use online check-in via the mobile app, the official website, or the airport's kiosk systems. Travelers should arrive at the airport at least three hours before departure to allow sufficient time for check-in formalities at these new locations. Clear signage and on-site staff at each terminal will guide passengers to the designated Vietnam Airlines check-in areas.
These terminal modernizations follow a landmark year in 2025, during which the national airline introduced 14 new international routes, including expanded connections to Copenhagen and Milan. By optimizing operations at these strategically important hubs, Vietnam Airlines can further expand its global presence and offer world-class efficiency to both its passengers and partner airlines.
